MIGRATION

Bird migration is a complex topic and can be a somewhat local migration to an extreme distance of travel. Here in Michigan, the springtime is when we see the huge influx of migratory birds passing through from southern wintering locales to northern breeding grounds, and often stopping to feed and rest during their long journey. There are also birds that breed in the arctic/tundra and will "migrate" to parts south to find food when it is scarce in their home territory.
